A Robert Capa Kortárs Fotográfiai Központ szabadtéri installációsorozata idén a 125 éve született Moholy-Nagy László munkásságát, fotográfiai, művészetelméleti látásmódját idézi meg a CAFe Budapest Kortárs Művészeti Fesztivál keretében. Az immár harmadik éve kiállítótérré átalakított szállítmányozási konténerekben megismerkedhetünk Moholy-Nagy egyedülálló életművével. Az installációk szerkezetét, a tárlat és a tér grafikai megoldásait a Bauhaus világa ihlette. A belső tér kialakításának koncepcióját Moholy-Nagy az „új látást” fókuszba helyező, a fény alaptermészetét kutató munkái határozzák meg. Egy térbe függesztett, színes plexiformákból álló, megvilágított mobilszerkezet izgalmas lehetőséget kínál a fény-árnyék játékának fotózására, a látogató ekként is Moholy-Nagy nyomába szegődhet.
„A magyar származású Moholy-Nagy László a huszadik századi művészet egyik legsokoldalúbb és legnagyobb hatású alkotója. A festészet, a fotó- és filmművészet, a látványtervezés, a művészeti nevelés, a szobrászat, az ipari formatervezés, a tipográfia és a reklám területe is tevékenységi körébe tartozott. Ő a legmerészebb kísérletező, akit modern látásmódja és formanyelve az „új látás” legfontosabb elméleti és gyakorlati mesterévé tett. Képzőművészeti munkássága – a Bauhaus tanáraként és Chicagóban iskolaalapítóként is – elméleti és pedagógiai tevékenysége révén vált teljessé.” (Csizek Gabriella kurátor)

The open-air installation series of the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center this year as part of the CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival celebrates the work, photographic vision and art theory of László Moholy-Nagy, who was born 125 years ago. Visitors can get acquainted with Moholy-Nagy’s unique oeuvre in the shipping containers, which have been transformed into exhibition spaces for the third year in a row. The structure of the installations, the graphic design of the exhibition and the space were inspired by the world of Bauhaus. The concept of the interior is defined by Moholy-Nagy’s unique work, which examines the basic nature of light, focusing on the “new vision”. Viewers are invited to take photos of an illuminated mobile structure of colorful plexiglass shapes, and thereby join Moholy-Nagy in exploring the play of light.
“The Hungarian László Moholy-Nagy is one of the most versatile and influential artists of the 20th century. He was involved in painting, photography, and film as well as design, art education, sculpture, industrial design, typography, and advertising. He is the boldest experimentalist, who became the most important theoretical and practical master of the “new vision” due to his modern perspective and style. His work in fine arts was complemented by his theoretical and educational endeavors – both as a teacher at the Bauhaus school and as the founder of a school in Chicago.” (Gabriella Csizek, curator)
