It is the aim of the THE AL-THANI AWARD FOR PHOTOGRAPHY to promote the art of photography in establishing a world wide number one photo event.

It is the aim of the THE AL-THANI AWARD FOR PHOTOGRAPHY to promote the art of photography in establishing a world wide number one photo event.
Each year the contest will consist out of 2 sections: there will be always a THEME FREE GENERAL SECTION . Here we expect your personal “best of”.
Plus there will be one special theme each year: for 2006 “MOVEMENT” in all aspects is chosen as the special theme of the contest. Let us see your most stunning movement images.
Pack the speed, the power and dramatics of movement & motion into outstanding images. Any kind of sports and action photography is very welcome. But also show prints, slides and digital files that present movement and speed by moving the camera or by using long term exposures . Or “freeze” fast moving motives with a short shutter speed. Everything that moves is in the focus of interest . From snail to rocket! Show moving people, playing children, transport media like cars, trains, airplanes or animals Present movement by wind, water or waves. We expect snapshots as well as staged photography. Deal with this theme in a new different way. Let your fantasy fly!

THE HIGHLIGHTS:

• All top award winners will be invited to Doha, the capital of Qatar, for the exhibition and award
