Pavlovka ArtGallery invites you to take part in the 8th Pavlovka Pinhole Fest, with the theme “Forms of Memory”.

The concepts of “human” and “memory” can be equated, as human life can be defined as a series of events imprinted in one’s consciousness.

Memory is closely connected with emotions: ups and downs, joys and sorrows, friends and foes – all of these leave their marks in our mind.

Often we try to erase negative traumatic experiences from our memory, push them out of consciousness, but they still follow us, influencing our attitude to people and certain events. Just as the memory of a positive experience affects the personality and life of an individual.

Turning to the origins, we cannot miss mentioning collective memory, the collective unconscious.

There are invisible things that miraculously unite people in different parts of the world, make them perceive the same events from the same positions.

Actually, photography is one of the keepers of memory, so this topic was bound to arise sooner or later, in our field of discussion.

We invite you to join in our reflections on the topic of memory.

Which form of memory speaks more to you? Collective or individual?

Perhaps you want to talk about events that are important for history and humanity.

Or maybe you are more connected to little things, details that recreate the atmosphere of a certain event and remain in your mind as important moments of life. These could be childhood memories, or moments from yesterday.

We are waiting for images that show your vision of the theme, and a short description of the concept of the work and how it relates to the theme of the festival.

 up to 3 images (can be either a series or single shots);

 resolution 300 dpi;

 size 30×40/45 сm;

Section 2 – alternative photographic processes and techniques. This section includes:

 analogue photographs taken with homemade cameras and/or lenses;

 photographs printed using alternative printing techniques (cyanotype, gum-oil, litho-print, etc.) as well as those taken without a camera (lumenprints, chemigrams, etc.).

Technical requirements:

 short info about the author: name (as you want it to appear for the viewer), country, links to site/social media;

 up to 3 images (can be either a series or single images);

 resolution 300 dpi;

 size 30 x 40/45 cm;

Кшталти пам’яті

Запрошуємо взяти участь у 8-му Pavlovka Pinhole Fest, тема якого “Кшталти пам’яті”.

Між поняттями “пам’ять” і “людина” можна поставити знак рівності, адже наше життя – це низка подій, відбита в нашій свідомості.

Пам’ять тісно пов’язана з емоціями, злетами і падіннями, радощами і смутком, друзями і ворогами – все це залишає свій слід.

Часто ми намагаємося негативний досвід, що нас травмує, стерти з пам’яті, витіснити зі свідомості, але він все одно слідуватиме за нами і диктуватиме своє ставлення до людей та певних подій. Так само як і пам’ять про позитивний досвід позначається на особистості та житті індивідуума.

Якщо звернутися до витоків, то не можна не згадати про колективну пам’ять, колективне несвідоме.

Є незримі речі, які часто-густо об’єднують людей у різних куточках світу, змушують сприймати одні й ті самі події з однакових позицій.

Власне, фотографія є одним із хранителів пам’яті, тому ця тема мала рано чи пізно постати.

Ми запрошуємо приєднатися до роздумів на тему пам’яті.

Яка форма пам’яті ближча вам? Колективна чи індивідуальна?

Можливо, ви хочете розповісти про події, важливі для історії та людства.

А може, вам ближчі дрібниці, деталі, що створюють атмосферу і закарбувалися у свідомості як щось важливе. Для одних це будуть спогади з дитинства, для інших пов’язані з вчорашнім днем.

Фестиваль відбудеться в Києві з 1 по 17 серпня 2025 року. Офіційне відкриття 1 серпня 2025 року.

Секція 2 – альтернативні фотопроцеси та техніки. У цю секцію приймаються:

 аналогові фотографії, отримані за допомогою саморобних камер та/або об’єктивів;

 фотографії, надруковані за допомогою альтернативних технік друку (ціанотипія, гумойл, літпринт тощо), а також без камери (фотограма, хеміграма і тощо).

Технічні вимоги:

 до 3-х зображень (можуть бути як серія, так і поодинокі знімки);

 Роздільна здатність 300 dpi;

 Розмір 30×40 см;

 стислий виклад концепції ваших робіт: як вони співвідносяться з тематикою фестивалю?

 обов’язково вказати в описі «Секція 2», за допомогою якої камери та/або об’єктива фото зроблено спосіб фотодруку;
