A tárlatvezetés keretében a European Kinship kiállításon szereplő magyar alkotókkal beszélgetünk a Capa Központban kiállított munkákról, valamint bemutatjuk a kiállításhoz kapcsolódó, frissen megjelent British Journal of Photography lapszámot.

Az eseményen „kortárs tárlatvezetés” jeggyel lehet részt venni, melyet helyben lehet megváltani.

Hogyan definiálható a kelet-európaiság? Mik azok a jellemzők, amik összekötik az itt élő, közös történelemmel rendelkező embereket? Hogyan csatornázódnak be ezek a tapasztalatok az európaiság megélésébe? Hogyan hatnak ezek a folyamatok a körülöttünk lévő világra, valamint annak jelenségeivel, hatásaival és az ezzel kapcsolatos érzésekkel és problémákkal foglalkozó művészeti-fotográfiai gyakorlatokra? A hat fejezetből álló Európaiság – kelet-európai perspektívából kiállítás lengyel és magyar fotósok munkáin keresztül az európai identitásra reflektál kifejezetten kelet-európai nézőpontból vizsgálva a kortárs tapasztalatokat.

A kiállításhoz kapcsolódóan a nemzetközi fotós színtér legmeghatározóbb és legrégebb óta jelen lévő (cca. 1854) magazinja, a speciális számot adott ki ‘European Kinship – Eastern European Perspective’ címmel, amely a világ összes fotográfiai intézményében és könyvesboltjában, közel 6000 helyszínen elérhető 2025 márciusától. A új lapszáma egy dupla borítós kiadás, amely a Capa Központtal és az Adam Miczkiewicz Intézettel együttműködésben készült. A lap tartalmazza a kiállításon szereplő összes lengyel és magyar képzőművész (BARAKONYI Szabolcs, HORVÁTH Anita, Katerina KOUZMITCHEVA, PICTORIAL COLLECTIVE, Agnieszka SEJUD,SIMON Zsuzsi, SPUTNIK PHOTOS, STANDOVÁR Júlia, SZOMBAT Éva, Ilona SZWARC, Karolina WOJTAS, Ada ZIELIŃSKA) bemutatását, valamint Lia DOSTLIEVA ukrán-lengyel művésznő munkáit. Emellett egy interjút a ‘European Kinship’ kiállítás kurátoraival (Wiktoria MICHALKIEWICZ & MUCSI Emese); illetve egy-egy összefoglaló írást a lengyel és a magyar fotográfiai színtér rövid történetéről és jelenlegi helyzetéről. A művészek és a kurátorok mellett a különleges szám létrehozásában közreműködtek a londoni szerkesztőség tagjai (Diane SMYTH, Mick MOORE, Izabela RADWANSKA ZHANG); valamint Catherine Troiano (kurátor, Victoria&Albert Museum, London) és Karolina Ziębińska-Lewandowska (director, Museum of Warsaw, Varsó) mint a téma szakértői.

Guided tour by the Hungarian artists featured in the ‘European Kinship’ exhibition about the works exhibited and the recently published British Journal of Photography, a special extension of the project presented at the Capa Center.

How can Eastern Europeanism be defined? What is it that is distinctively its own, that binds the peoples who live here and share a common history and geography? Or what and how does all this become one in Euro-ness? What are the trends towards deeper European integration and more international cooperation? And how do they affect artistic-photographic practices dealing with the world around us, its phenomena, its effects, and the related feelings and problems? The six-chapter exhibition ‘European Kinship – Eastern European Perspective’ reflects on European identity through the work of Polish and Hungarian photographers, exploring contemporary experiences from a specifically regional point of view.

As part of the show at the Capa Center the most influential and longest-established publication on the international photography scene (circa. 1854), the has published a special issue entitled ‘European Kinship – Eastern European Perspective’, which will be available in nearly 6000 locations in photography institutions and bookshops worldwide from March 2025. The new issue of is a double-cover edition produced in collaboration with the Capa Center and the Adam Miczkiewicz Institute. The magazine features all the Polish and Hungarian artists included in the exhibition (Szabolcs BARAKONYI, Anita HORVÁTH, Katerina KOUZMITCHEVA, PICTORIAL COLLECTIVE, Agnieszka SEJUD, Zsuzsi SIMON, SPUTNIK PHOTOS, Júlia STANDOVÁR, Éva SZOMBAT, Ilona SZWARC, Karolina WOJTAS, Ada ZIELIŃSKA) and the Ukrainian-Polish artist Lia DOSTLIEVA. In addition, an interview with the curators of the ‘European Kinship’ exhibition (Wiktoria MICHALKIEWICZ & Emese MUCSI); and a summary of the brief history and current state of the Polish and Hungarian photographic scene. Alongside the artists and curators, the special issue was produced with the contribution of members of the editorial team (Diane SMYTH, Mick MOORE, Izabela RADWANSKA ZHANG); and Catherine Troiano (curator, Victoria & Albert Museum, London) and Karolina Ziębińska-Lewandowska (director, Museum of Warsaw, Warsaw) as experts on the subject.
