Expert judging panels will evaluate all prints. Entries receiving Honorable Mention will be displayed at WPPI’s 25th Annual Convention and Trade Show. The competition’s top award-winning photographs will be honored during a special Convention Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, March 23, 2005, and will be included in Album 2005, an anthology of award-winning prints from the competition.

ALL PRINTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY JANUARY 28, 2005.

The 25th Annual Awards of Excellence Print Competition judging, held in conjunction with Wedding & Portrait Photographers International’s 25th Annual Convention and Trade Show, is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, March 19 & 20, 2005, at BALLY’s, Las Vegas,
from 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

OFFICIAL AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE PRINT COMPETITION RULES:

1. Entry forms will be filled out online, and each 16×20-mounted entry must be accompanied by the page you must print out after each entry is submitted. The printed page must be securely attached to the back of your print, which must be carefully packed for protection.
2. There is no maximum number of entries you may submit. All entries from one location may be packed in the same container to save on shipping costs.
3. To submit entries for this competition online, you must first sign up for the competition. The sign up page will ask you for credit card information. Your credit card will be charged only when you submit print(s) in the competition. When sign up is completed, you may enter as many prints as you wish. You must print the page that is generated after completing each entry which will be included with your submission. To pay by check, you must fill out a paper entry form for each print you submit. The form must be securely attached to the back of each submitted print. Click here for a copy of the entry form which you can print.
4. Entry fees: WPPI Members: $42 per initial entry; $37 thereafter. Non-members: $60 per initial entry; $55 thereafter. Include $30 per package to cover return postage and handling for entries from the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Include $46 per package for all countries outside of North America. If shipping payment is not included with your entries, WPPI will keep your print entries and they will not be returned to you.

All photographs may be submitted in either Wedding, Portrait, Photojournalism, Commercial or Premier categories. Entries may be submitted in only ONE category.

(This category is only for photographers entering the Awards of Excellence print competition for the first time. Photographs may be either Wedding, Photojournalism, Portrait or Commercial. The Premier category is judged separately from the other categories).

5. No identifying marks may appear on the front of the entry.
6. Applicants agree that any entered photograph may be used by WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHERS INTERNATIONAL, and RANGEFINDER in any of their publications, printed materials, or electronic media, such as, but not limited to, either of their web sites or either of their affiliates’ web sites. A model release must be available for all recognizable individuals pictured in entries. (Do not submit release unless requested.)
7. Images will be returned within a reasonable amount of time, following the announcement of awards and display at WPPI’s 25th ANNUAL CONVENTION AND TRADE SHOW. WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHERS INTERNATIONAL is not liable for any damage incurred during shipping. No prints will be returned at the convention.
8. Deadline for receiving prints is JANUARY 28, 2005. PRINTS RECEIVED AFTER THIS DATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
9. Entries will be judged for photographic artistry and craftsmanship by the WPPI Print Judging Committee. All decisions by the judges are final.
10. Rules may be changed or modified without notice.
